The Ekene & Friends Experience is a curated live performance bringing together gifted original artists from the Monterey Peninsula and beyond — for one evening only, in a 100-seat room.
Headlined by Nigerian-born singer-songwriter Ekene, the night features:
• Jewel Ariana — guitar & singer-songwriter
• Nicola Reilly — violin
• Sofyan Karim — tabla drums
• Azi Fedoui — guitar & singer-songwriter
• And local artists joining throughout the evening
What to expect:
An intimate, listening-room experience — not background music. Original songs, live instruments, and the kind of musical conversation that only happens when artists who respect each other share a stage. Expect moments that move between languages and traditions: West African melody, classical strings, South Asian rhythm, and California songwriting, woven together in real time.
The venue:
Lauren’s Lounge at the historic Holman Building — Steinbeck’s landmark in Pacific Grove. A warm, acoustically intimate space where every seat is close to the music.
