Wishing you all the blessings of New Year!
Begin this year soaking in the blessings of “Hazrat ~e~Dilli" a name given to Delhi back in the 13th century as sufi pirs from across the 7 seas settled here and made these lands their home.
And blessed these lands have been with a tale of spirituality at every turn…
Join DBF for an evening of a mixed bag of experiences at the final resting place of the patron saint of #Delhi....Mazzaar-e-Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya.…
In an age where mighty emperors waged wars for glory and power there rose to prominence another set of leaders who sought to conquer the heart of people. Their doors were always open for people of all castes and creeds from the emperor to the slaves the poets and fakirs. The khanqas where they lived became centres of dialogue debate and exchange of ideas and of music and poetry. Even today almost 800 years since they first set foot in Hindustan the Sufi saints continues to hold a special place in our spiritual and cultural lives.
Meander with us on streets which once saw the great Saint tread softly yet whose tenets of spiritual healing continue to echo strongly in these alleys and teach us lessons of universal love brotherhood & hope....where the mundane and mystical blend seamlessly as we jostle amidst crowds who sell kaftans & kebabs flowers & fragrances masalas & mithaais… As we share hazaar stories and you discover some spectacular monuments from a bygone era!!
A must-do for Dilli history buffs who want to know more about Sufism and the lovers of visual/photography experiences. T
he Heritage & Culture Walk will be conducted in a mix of Urdu/Hindi and English.
