About this Event
About the book:
Following the death of her mother, Hiroko uncovers metaphysical threads that have been hiding in plain sight. The book takes readers from Tokyo streets to sacred caves and roaring waterfalls, bringing them face to face with fascinating folks: priests and monks, seekers and oracles, their diverse approaches to life and death guided by the “eight million,” a Japanese idiom for the infinite spirits that connect us all. The lessons she uncovers—about hope, forgiveness, and healing—will uplift and inspire anyone grappling with questions of life, death, and grief. Along the way, readers will learn how to build their own “spiritual toolbox,” giving them newfound flexibility to cultivate gratitude, appreciation, and joy.
A book like no other, Eight Million Ways to Happiness is more than a guide to Japan’s spiritual landscape. It’s a roadmap to your own awakening—about Japan and yourself.
