GSD Kathak students who are in categories of Beginner, Intermediate and Advance will get a chance to learn from Malaysian Kathak dancers/teachers, Dhanya Thurairajah and Nadina Vijay, from The Temple of Fine Arts, in a brief workshop course. In the spirit of 15 years: Collaboration, GSD's Teachers, Arunagiri Szeyuan Lam and Sangametra Yuiyuan Lam will lead and also join the workshops. They are at the forefront of the performing arts industry while having an entire lifetime training as Odissi, Bharatanatyam, contemporary-ballet and Malaysian dances and in music too. At GSD, the objectives are to encourage a healthy culture of study, research, enquiry and empowerment. Programme Schedule:
● 9:00am – 10:00am: Beginner Session 1
● 10:00am – 10:15am: Q&A
● 10:20am – 11:20am: Beginner 2 / Intermediate Session
● 11:20am – 11:35am: Q&A
● 11:35am – 11:55am: Lunch Break / Refreshments
● 12:00pm – 1:30pm: Advanced Session
This workshop is designed to provide our students with a holistic and engaging learning experience. Participants will be guided through foundational elements of Kathak, including rhythm (tala), technique, and expressive movement, alongside interactive exercises and short choreographic pieces suited to their level.
Vegetarian meals and refreshments will be provided.
Fee: RM100 per student
