Eggy Call For Art

The Craft Coven is hosting our second annual EGGY art show in the Cherry Street Pier first floor gallery from April 1st to April 30th 2025. Opening reception will take place on April 4th for First Friday.
Form application deadline is February 24th. Participant invitations will be sent in mid March. We have a limited amount of space and will turn down works that:
-have no connection with the theme (see below for broad range of theme)
-are too large, too small, or otherwise cannot be physically displayed for any reason
-are in any way mis aligned with The Craft Coven's goals of community enrichment
What is EGGY?
The theme eggy can be interpreted in many ways. This show is meant to be a celebration of all that Spring holds for our community. There are images that we connect with this time of year: eggs, rabbits, flowers, raindrops, color palette of pastels, greens and pinks just for example. For some, Spring is a moment of rebirth, renewal and new beginnings. For others it's when we get together to eat egg salad and get free candy. Tell us what an Eggy Spring means to you!

THE SPECIFICS
***All hangable works must be able to hang with magnets*** The gallery space is made of shipping containers so the walls are all metal.For questions and purchase inquiries please reach out to [email protected]

Hangable work must fit within a 3 foot wide x 7 foot tall space including any display materials
Please consider size, shape, and weight with respect to the magnets you're supplying
See suggested magnets HERE or HERE 3D work is acceptable but you must provide your own pedestal or table. 3D work is also limited to 3 feet wide in any direction. If you want to display with another person please coordinate with them first and then fill out the google doc together.
We will not have any vendors within the gallery space, this is for displaying individual artworks only. Collections may be accepted if they fit within the theme, and gallery constraints.
We will accept installation proposals with a focus on anything that involves the community. We have space for more than one installation depending on size. Please email [email protected] directly with questions on installation specific work.
We are not asking for an application fee, but we will request that all invited artists donate a $20 hanging fee (paid when invited to participate, via venmo or paypal) towards supplies and labor. If fees will cause a barrier for anyone invited to display, The Craft Coven will sponsor your hanging fee when possible.
