EFI 2024 Annual Conference

This year’s Annual Conference will be held in Bonn, Germany, on 18-20 September 2024.

In the morning of 18 September, we will have a Members ‘dialogue session where we will introduce our new communications strategy and learn about co-creation. Later representatives of the EFI member organisations take the formal Annual Conference decisions in the ordinary plenary session. In the late afternoon the Members’ dialogue session continues with Young Scientists Session on Forests and generative AI. The aim is to present the experimental AI work related to integrated forest management, and reflect how young scientists, young non-profit representatives and young journalists could potentially work together considering the new opportunities and challenges we face through the growing use of AI.

On 19 September a scientific seminar titled 'Intergrative forest management' will take place. The primary objective of this seminar is to dig into a deeper understanding of the interplay of forest and environmental science, policy and practice.The field trip on 20 September organised by regional forestry department Rhein-Sieg-Erft will concentrate on forestry in a metropolitan area .
