Effortless Masterpiece: Free Your Body, Mind and Creativity with David
About this Event
Artist and art educator David Han opens this two-hour workshop with gentle Alexander Technique work: gentle movement, breath, and attention that release the tension you've been holding and interrupt the habits that tighten your body and crowd your mind.
Once you're open and free, you come to the table and create. David gives you a starting point and a technique or two: how to sketch with water, how to load a brush, how to let the color bleed. You slow down, stay patient, and let time and magic do the rest. You'll work in watercolor on paper, ink and brush, or acrylic on canvas, with David moving around the room helping as you go and a final touch from him that turns it into a piece you're proud to post.
This is for you if you are:
• Sure you "can't draw" and have never picked up a brush
• Carrying tension in your neck and shoulders, and want to unwind somewhere other than your couch
• In your head all day, wanting to create, but not feeling creative
• Curious about the Alexander Technique and don't know where to start
• Looking to create something with your hands instead of touching screens
It's also a great date night. Come as a pair and make something side by side, or come on your own — the room stays small (12 people max), the pace is unhurried, and people talk, laugh, and leave having met someone new. What comes out is almost always beyond what you thought you could make.
Two hours · all materials included · beginners especially welcome.
