Efficient Information Retrieval from Documents

Do you often find yourself spending too much time searching through lengthy PDFs, project documents, and technical texts? In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to find the answer in just seconds using AI. The process runs entirely locally and securely, with no need for cloud services.

You will learn how a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system works. This approach makes your documents searchable and enables targeted answers to your questions. It is based on three key components: embeddings, which make text content computationally comparable; vector databases, which allow efficient searching; and local large language models (LLMs), which generate relevant answers based on these results.

Using a ready-to-use tool, we demonstrate how these elements work together. You will gain practical insight into the processes behind the scenes – from preparing the data to generating answers with a local language model. The aim is to clearly understand how local AI systems can support efficient work with large volumes of text

Requirements 

Basic knowledge of Python and mathematics is required. Please bring a laptop with you and install the necessary developer tools in advance. You will receive the relevant information after registering.
