Join us for a walking tour with free booklet aids and stories of the accomplishments and trials of the workers who have built our great city
About this Event

This walking tour visits places between the Milner Library and the top of Grierson Hill. Stories are told of the accomplishments and the trials of the workers who have built the city and the resulting legacies of these places and events. A free illustrated booklet aids in imagining the places that no longer exist.
Skilled people build the structures that mark the city's heritage, fulfilling our designers' visions. Building methods change with technological improvements, but the social conditions, both on the job and within our boom/bust economy, have implications for the lives of working people. This tour reveals the factors that influenced the lives of working people and their communities in our vibrant city.

Meet outside on the north plaza of the Downtown Milner Public Library (facing the LRT tracks on 102 Avenue between 99 and 100 Streets). The tour starts and ends here.
