Après la première édition il y a 3 ans et la projection de la partie 1 du documentaire “United We Stand”, Edutainment Collectif revient vous présenter la partie 2 à la Brasserie de La Source.
Alors que la première partie du documentaire s'attardait sur l'aspect musical, social et technique des sound systems reggae et dub, cette suite s'intéresse davantage aux messages véhiculés, au côté revendicatif et militant et à la contre-culture que représente cette scène à part entière. Le réalisateur s'intéresse également au mouvement des free-parties et établit des points communs indéniables avec le milieu du dub.
Au vu du sujet du documentaire, il nous a semblé logique de co-organiser cet événement avec des acteurs de la scène Soundsystem Dub Tek en Belgique et de réorganiser une discussion autour du documentaire avec Théo du Footprint System.
Après la projection, on continuera donc en musique sur le soundsystem de Make It Burn avec des sélections Roots & Dub de La Mib & Edutainment Sound..
On aura la chance d’avoir la présentation du nouvel Album de nos copains français Footprint System et Tewagi : “Dubamorphose” en mode Dubwise 90’s x Balkan & Middle Eastern vibes.
Et on clôturera la soirée en faisant honneur à la culture free-party avec un set Dubtek de la MIB family jusqu'à 3h30.

Écrit, réalisé et produit par Alexandre Gaonach, United We Stand est un documentaire édifiant qui retrace l’histoire de la culture sound system et plus largement des événements autogérés en Europe. C’est un témoignage ardent et honnête de plusieurs générations de lutte, une œuvre de référence pour notre communauté et pour la postérité.
Empreint d’une forme de réalisme social, le film est pour ainsi dire : « taillé dans le vif » : La majorité des séquences ont été filmées sur place, dans les événements alternatifs que ce documentaire tente de déchiffrer. Un regard contemporain et éclairé sur cette culture musicale effervescente, qui n’arrête pas de nous faire danser et réfléchir depuis la fin des années 60.
Ce film est un hommage à une culture sound system en ébullition, un enthousiasme intrépide pour la création d’évènements de vivre ensemble et de partage, par delà les frontières. Le documentaire d’Alexandre Gaonach s’intègre dans une démarche d’éducation populaire et solidaire.
C’est une ambition que le réalisateur partage avec la communauté sound system. La production artistique engagée – qu’il s’agisse de musique ou de cinéma – participe à la convergence des luttes. Il s’agit donc d’un outil de communication et d’information d’intérêt public. Son objectif est la défense des droits humains fondamentaux, l’éco-responsabilité, l’auto-gestion, et la résistance à toutes les formes d’exploitation et d’oppression. « Avançons ensemble vers des rêves partagés, plutôt que concurrents » Nous sommes navrés de vous annoncer qu’Alexandre Gaonach nous a quitté le 14 Mai 2017.
Nous aurons toutefois l’occasion d’échanger et de discuter du documentaire, de sa réalisation, des dynamiques et messages qu’ils véhiculent avec Théo, membre de FootPrint System et proche du réalisateur à la fin de la projection.

FOOTPRINT SYSTEM :
Co-fondateurs et membres actifs des collectifs Adubtion (I.D.F) et de la F.I.S.L (Fédération Internationale des Sounds Libertaires), FootPrint System est une formation qui conjugue les styles Dubwise 90s et les musiques populaires du pourtour méditerranéen.
Inauguré début 2009, l'objectif était, à l'origine, d'harmoniser des
identités musicales singulières, et de soutenir la culture soundsystem en tant qu’outil d’éducation populaire, vecteur de solidarités au-delà de toutes les frontières. Après la sortie de cinq EPs, et de nombreux singles, collaborations et remix, FootPrint System et Tewagi sound forment un tandem depuis 2024 et préparent la sortie d'un nouvel album dont la sortie officielle est prévue au printemps 2026.
Ce projet intitulé #DUBAMORPHOSE est le fruit d'une collaboration éclectique, avec des artistes professionnels des Balkans et du Proche Orient tels que Evren Avci, Mihai Pirvan, Nizar Ali, Manel Girard, Milos Kunc,J. Ivan Fonseca, Romain Desreumeaux, Guru Pope, Youthie, Guillaume Perrier, Seddy Novruzbayov (...) Ensemble, FootPrint System et Tewagi portent un message fédérateur d'inspiration libertaire, antifasciste et internationaliste.

MAKE IT BURN est un soundsystem belge, basé dans la campagne du sud de Bruxelles depuis 2017.
Fans de tekno et dub, ils proposent des soirées aux styles musicaux variés. Organisant des soirées légales et gratuites, ils souhaitent réintroduire le dub sur la scène des free parties, où la tekno et le hardcore dominent. Ils veillent également à ce que chacun se sente à l'aise dans les espaces qu'ils ouvrent, en particulier les femmes et les personnes LGBTQIA+. À chacune de leurs soirées, ils luttent activement contre les violences sexistes et sexuelles, ainsi que contre la LGBTphobie, afin que leurs soirées reflètent leur vision des valeurs de la culture soundsystem : respect, inclusion et convivialité.

After the first edition three years ago and the screening of part 1 of the documentary “United We Stand,” Edutainment Collectif returns to present part 2 at the Brasserie de La Source.
While the first part of the documentary focused on the musical, social, and technical aspects of reggae and dub sound systems, this sequel focuses more on the messages conveyed, the protest and militant side, and the counterculture that this scene represents in its own right. The director also takes an interest in the free-party movement and establishes undeniable similarities with the dub scene.
Given the subject of the documentary, it seemed logical to us to co-organize this event with players from the Soundsystem Dub Tek scene in Belgium and to reorganize a discussion around the documentary with Théo from Footprint System.
After the screening, we will continue with music on the Make It Burn soundsystem with Roots & Dub selections from La Mib & Edutainment Sound.
We will be lucky enough to have a presentation of the new album by our French friends Footprint System and Tewagi: “Dubamorphose” in Dubwise 90's x Balkan & Middle Eastern vibes mode.
And we will close the evening by honoring the free-party culture with a Dubtek set by the MIB family until 3:30 a.m.

Written, directed, and produced by Alexandre Gaonach, United We Stand is an inspiring documentary that traces the history of sound system culture and, more broadly, self-managed events in Europe. It is a passionate and honest testimony to several generations of struggle, a reference work for our community and for posterity.
Imbued with a form of social realism, the film is, so to speak, “cut from the cloth”: most of the sequences were filmed on location, at the alternative events that this documentary attempts to decipher. It offers a contemporary and enlightened look at this effervescent musical culture, which has kept us dancing and thinking since the late 1960s. This film is a tribute to a vibrant sound system culture, an intrepid enthusiasm for creating events that bring people together and encourage sharing, beyond borders. Alexandre Gaonach's documentary is part of a popular education and solidarity initiative.
It is an ambition that the director shares with the sound system community. Committed artistic production—whether in music or cinema—contributes to the convergence of struggles. It is therefore a tool for communication and information in the public interest. Its goal is to defend fundamental human rights, eco-responsibility, self-management, and resistance to all forms of exploitation and oppression. “Let's move forward together toward shared dreams, rather than competing ones.” We are sad to announce that Alexandre Gaonach passed away on May 14, 2017.
However, we will have the opportunity at the end of the screening to exchange and discuss the documentary, its production, and the dynamics and messages it conveys with Théo, a member of FootPrint System and close friend of the director.

FOOTPRINT SYSTEM:
Co-founders and active members of the Adubtion (I.D.F) and F.I.S.L (Fédération Internationale des Sounds Libertaires) collectives, FootPrint System is a group that combines 90s Dubwise styles with popular music from around the Mediterranean.
Launched in early 2009, the original goal was to harmonize
unique musical identities and support soundsystem culture as a tool for popular education and a vehicle for solidarity across borders. After releasing five EPs and numerous singles, collaborations, and remixes, FootPrint System and Tewagi Sound have been working together since 2024 and are preparing to release a new album, scheduled for official release in spring 2026.
This project, entitled #DUBAMORPHOSE, is the result of an eclectic collaboration with professional artists from the Balkans and the Middle East, such as Evren Avci, Mihai Pirvan, Nizar Ali, Manel Girard, Milos Kunc, J. Ivan Fonseca, Romain Desreumeaux, Guru Pope, Youthie, Guillaume Perrier, Seddy Novruzbayov (...) Together, FootPrint System and Tewagi carry a unifying message of libertarian, anti-fascist, and internationalist inspiration.

MAKE IT BURN is a Belgian sound system based in the countryside south of Brussels since 2017.
Fans of techno and dub, they host parties featuring a variety of musical styles. Organizing legal and free parties, they aim to reintroduce dub to the free party scene, where techno and hardcore dominate. They also ensure that everyone feels comfortable in the spaces they open up, especially women and LGBTQIA+ people. At each of their parties, they actively combat sexist and sexual violence, as well as LGBTphobia, so that their parties reflect their vision of the values of sound system culture: respect, inclusion, and conviviality.
