The Okanagan Science Centre is hosting a FREE Educator Appreciation Evening on November 18 from 4:00-6:00pm. This drop-in event offers teachers and education professionals a chance to connect with local organizations and explore programs, field trips and hands-on resources that support classroom learning.Educators can meet representatives from WWEST, Let’s Talk Science, Allan Brooks Nature Centre, Vernon Community Arts Centre, Vernon Lapidary Club, Okanagan Regional Library, and more. The evening includes after-hours access to the Science Centre, our new "Wild Weather" travelling exhibit, complimentary wine, and light snacks.
In addition, Science World is hosting a FREE drop-in Teacher Cafe to experience hands-on learning opportunities that will creatively bring digital literacy and technology education into your classroom! Explore fun robotics and coding tools that engage students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Brainstorm ways to empower your students with the skills they need for the future, like AI literacy (including some "unplugged activities"— did you know that you can teach AI without a computer?).
