Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. “A Matter of Balance” is an award-winning evidence-based fall prevention program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. Learn how to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity levels, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance using chair-based exercise.This educational series will be presented by Emily Christ, Purdue Extension Educator in Health & Human Sciences in Elkhart County. The series will be held on Monday and Thursday mornings from 9:30am-11:30am starting Monday, October 27th through Thursday, November 20th at the Purdue Extension Elkhart County office (located on the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds). The fee is $25 per participant payable at the door with cash/check. Each class will build upon the previous session making it important to attend all classes.
