I hope you have been following the removal of dams on our beloved Fox River. It's in step with similar actions going around the country, and bodes well for a return of our natural environment, albeit sandwiched between urban sprawl. The Friends of the Fox are advocates and cheering section for the Fox River. I would like our group to do a joint paddle with their group. The intent is to paddle through the removed carpentersville dam, and discuss what the river looked like before, versus what it looks like now, versus what they hope it looks like in the coming years.
I hope to do this paddle annually, and take pictures, and compare what we're seeing from year to year. This would just be the first inaugural joint paddle with that intent.
Our host for the paddle will be Friends of the Fox administrator. Gary Swick.
Won't you join us for this educational and important paddle?
