We all know that stories are the best way to demonstrate impact and help donors fell connected to our organizations and missions. But we also want to make sure we are being thoughtful, respectful and fair to anyone who wishes to share their story.
This fireside chat is a judgement-free opportunity to share our challenges and learn simple ways to check our motivations, processes and responsibilities.

Lisa Dayanandan is a philanthropy advisor with the Edmonton Community Foundation. She has more than 17 years of non-profit experience in both the UK and Canada, working with an array of causes including healthcare, education, poverty, homelessness, and international development. An advocate for the non-profit sector, Lisa serves as a board member with the local chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP). Lisa is passionate about people and their stories, and lives by the African philosophy of Ubuntu which emphasizes the interconnectedness of individuals: My humanity is tied to your humanity.
