Meet Your Guest Instructor – Joseph DeVries
With a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Missouri State University and an undergraduate degree in chemistry from UMKC, Joe brings a unique blend of scientific knowledge and hands-on experience to the world of mushrooms.
Since 2015, Joe and his wife, Shannon, have been passionate mushroom enthusiasts—classifying, foraging, and cultivating mushrooms together. While he considers himself a hobbyist, his confidence in mushroom morphology and taxonomy is strong, and his years of field and cultivation experience make him an engaging and informative teacher.
