Join us for a walking journey through the radical and revolutionary past of Edinburgh & Leith. Discover the working-class struggles, revolutionary uprisings, and defiant voices that helped shape these historic communities.
Highlights include:
🔴 Leith’s Working-Class Legacy – The 1913 Leith Dockers’ Strike
✊ The Radical War of 1820 – Scotland's forgotten insurrection, the worlds first General Strike, when workers rose up against exploitation and demanded reform.
🏴 The Birthplace of James Connolly – Stand where the great socialist leader and revolutionary was born, and learn how his ideas still resonate today.
📢 John Maclean’s Defiant Speech from the Dock – Experience the fiery words of Scotland’s famous socialist agitator as he faced down the Imperialist Warmongers in court.
This is more than a history tour—it’s a walk through the living memory of struggle, solidarity, and resistance. The tour will be approximately 5km so wear comfortable shoes and be ready to feel inspired by the fighting spirit of Edinburgh & Leith’s radical past!
