Edged Weapon Countermeasures

An attacker with a knife doesn't require the individual to have any specialized skill set. They are motivated by intent and the capability to cause death.

The Edged Weapons Countermeasures course focuses on surviving a grievous encounter and converting defensive tactics to combatives.

This is not a martial arts course. The techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTP's) are sound and align with Canadian law and the National Use of Force Framework.

Course note: This training is open to LE / Mil only. The training venue address will be sent upon completion of registration.

The seminar will focus on:

• Knife attack knowledge
• Knife defense concepts
• Lethal force engagements

All course participants will require the following for this INDOOR event:

• Operational uniform or training t-shirt, cargo pants, clean duty boots
• Eye protection, electronic ear protection (recommended)
• Duty belt, holster, training pistol (SIRT, Blue Gun or Gas)
• Soft body armour
• All participants are responsible for their own meals, snacks and hydration
• A microwave, fridge and free parking is available on site

Brief Background

The primary instructor for this course is Chris Mandigma - a recognized authority in law enforcement training specializing in close quarter combatives. He has 15 years of experience in operational law enforcement, security and as an instructor. Chris is Canada's sole TRICOM Master Instructor and instructs for multiple law enforcement agencies and has also instructed at NTOA, ISOA, and OTAB.
