Eddie's Hell of the South (EHOTS) - 2026 Edition

Did you know this event started off as a private Wally’s Bike Shop customer event, known as the Hell of the South, where competitors raced on road bikes on gravel? This is why there is a “traditional” category every year, and it’s the only way you can get your name on the coveted trophy.
The event was renamed “Eddie’s Hell of the South” or EHOTS after the tragic death of Eddie Argüelles, a local rider who was killed while riding to an early morning local ride. Eddie was a friend to many in the RGV cycling community, and this event continues his spirit and sense of humor.
For this year, we will continue to offering three category types to race/participate in - traditional, gravel and mountain bike. Same venue as the last two years at Klub Nautique on the Rio Grande! Who will podium in their category this year? Who will get their name on the coveted trophy? Register today!
