A free professional development event for school library media specialists from West Georgia and beyond!

The University of West Georgia's (UWG) School Library Media (SLM) program is sponsoring a FREE Edcamp for media specialists to come together on campus and collaborate on school library topics of their choice. Enjoy this time to learn from and network with other media specialists from west Georgia and beyond! Sessions will be held between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7th, in UWG's Education Center.

It's an independently organized and hosted 'unconference' conference. An EdCamp agenda is created by the participants. Because content is participant-driven, attendees are encouraged to arrive with a willingness to share. It's a flexible, casual time to network with other librarians, share knowledge and expertise, and leave with new ideas and practical information.

During the first part of the camp, you will mingle with other attendees and settle in for the unconference. Topics that will be discussed and led by you, the participants, can include but are not limited to: collaboration, collection development, multiple literacies, advocacy, standards, curriculum, programming, tech tools, and MakerSpaces. Edcamps support the "Rule of Two Feet:" You are encouraged to move on to another session if you find one that does not meet your needs.
