As the turning of the year comes to an end, as the reeds blacken and leaves wither and die upon jagged boughs, we come together and clasp hands, braced against the cold within us – Even as we are hollowed by grief of Life's turning, we light fires and exalt in the fury burning in each other's eyes. What does it mean to release the manacles that bind us? To bite and howl like an untamed beast? What does it mean to embrace each other in rage, in joy, to cast our lot with the demons and celebrate in open-hearted acceptance? We invite you to join us in this exploration. We will learn what it means to create a safe and supportive container to embody aggression and intensity of emotion. Our guides will be the comradery and freedom of mosh culture, and the sensitivity and care cultivated by contact improvisation. Together, we will embark on this journey to integrate and make love to the shadows within ourselves.

Playfight (Mini): 7-8pm (must arrive by 7pm to be included in the workshop)

Playfighting is a form of physical contact and playful confrontation with one or more people. Playing around in a ring and entering in physical contact with one another in a mindful way can be deeply liberating and incredibly fun. Playfighting can lead to self- and body- awareness, and may well bring to light some unexpected qualities of ourselves. We will create a safe space to have fun. But the space will also open us up to experience and exchange feelings and energies that we rarely get to see in our normal dally routine. Through the playful struggle with a self-chosen opponent (who can accept or reject the challenge), we come into contact with ourselves, our play, our power, and our unseen shadow.
