The Elkhart County Quilt Fiber Experience will host the “2026 Fiber Experience” on September 16 at Wellfield Botanic Gardens, 1011 North Main Street, Elkhart, IN 46514. The day starts at 10:00 am and concludes at 4:00 pm, the garden is open till 6:00 pm. The Fiber Experience is working with regional fiber artisans building a community of teaching, learning, experiencing and discovering the joy of textiles and fibers!
The second year Fiber experience features four fiber artisans presenting a variety of subjects. Kris Peterson will be sharing, “Carefree Weaving”, Barb Snell “Indonesia, Batiks and Bali Oh My”, Chris Hornby, “Creating with Wool” and Susanne Hertzler, “From Sheep to Wool and More”.
The ECQFE website, www.elkhartquiltfiber.org offers the information about the experience, and how to register, for the “Fiber Retreat”. The entry price for the September 16, 10:00 am -4:00 pm, is $35.00. Pre-registration is required and the fee includes admission to the Wellfield Botanic Gardens, snacks, lunch, water, a project bag. There will also be drawings for door prizes. Participants are encouraged to bring their handwork to work on as well as share what they are working on with others.
