Join us for an exploration of finding peace in nature as you marvel at one of Sarasota County’s spectacular sunsets during a silent walk.Location and Meeting Info: Park is located at the end of Benjamin Franklin Drive. Park in large dirt parking lot opposite bathrooms and building. Meet at the beginning of the path to the beach.
Join us for a contemplative walk where we will practice mindfulness, breathwork, and using all our senses to connect with nature. Marvel at one of Sarasota County’s spectacular sunsets during a mostly silent, meditative walk. In studies conducted around the world, researchers have found an association between better mental health and living near coasts and other bodies of water. Join a UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County educator or volunteer for an exploration of finding peace within nature and get healthier along the way! Please register for this event ONLY at ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com rather than any third-party websites, as they are not affiliated with our classes and events.
No prior experience needed. Recommended to wear comfortable, loose clothing and bring layers in case it is windy or chilly. Bring water and a portable chair or blanket to sit upon as we will stop to sit along the walk, as well as bug spray. Appropriate for ages 12-102.

Trail surface/conditions: We will be walking on beach sand along the shoreline. The surface may be uneven and bumpy, and at times may be wet.
