Ecotourism Around the Purgatoire: Picketwire Canyon

Join us for the first in our Community Ecotourism Series for a day at Picketwire Canyonlands to see dinosaur tracks & much more with the USFS!

This is a full day auto tour led by the USFS, and you will need to sign up through them FIRST at Recreation.gov.

We will be providing free lunch and drinks and you can caravan out there and back with a group of us, or just meet us there! You will need a high clearance/4x4 vehicle to attend this tour OR if you do not have a high clearance/4x4 vehicle, reach out to us and we'll get you into someone's vehicle who has one! We don't want anyone to miss out! But, this will be a long day and rough roads, so please be prepared.

*Please Note - We are offering this event to encourage and support community members to 'get out there' and explore your watershed! But you absolutely can sign up to do this auto tour on your own on this date, or a different date. We are just offering lunch, snacks, drinks & camaraderie on this date if you would like to join us! Also note this is not a private tour, in that other members of the public from far and wide may also sign up for this tour - but we'll just get to make more new friends!

If you choose to join us, this event has a two part registration & PLEASE only register if you are fully committed to attending - tickets are very limited.

1) Please first register at Recreation.gov for the April 19th "Picket Wire Canyonlands Guided Auto Tour" at https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/facility/234166 so that you know you've got your ticket. Tickets are NOT per vehicle, they are per person - every person needs a ticket. If you do not have a ticket when we get there, you cannot join the tour!

2) Then IF you will be joining us and want in on the free lunch & water & snacks & opportunity to caravan together from Trinidad, just register for this event to get your free ticket. We need you to do this so we can get a headcount for lunch and other supplies. Please note - we are just providing food and camaraderie:) You are choosing to sign up for this tour with USFS and take your vehicle and yourself on this tour at your own risk.
