About this Event
Ecotherapy Plant Walk
Do you have a yearning to connect more deeply with the wild landscapes around you?
Together, we will move beyond the “wall of green" and call each plant by their name. We will weave together somatic practices, ancestral connection and decolonial land tending practices. This class is for you if you have been searching for a way to connect more deeply to your surroundings and slow down into presence. We will build resilience within a world that does not support the worth of all living beings and get in direct connection with that which gives us life. Bring yourself to class in any shape or form and we will allow the earth to hold the container for us!
In this class you will:
- Identify some common wild edibles/ medicinals in the field and learn about their uses
- Meditate on the connection between the body and earth
- Cross-reference in plant guidebooks
- Learn about ethical harvesting methods
- Get to know important poisonous, invasive and endangered plants
- Contribute to a community altar to honor our lineages and land based practices
- Cultivate a relationship of reciprocity with the land
Cost: This event is offered sliding scale $30-60, however in the spirit of getting earth based skills to those most marginalized by systemic oppression, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Trades are welcome too, but not required. Please pay the maximum that you can for this offering, as this helps me continue to teach and sustain myself. Whether or not you can pay, please still sign up for a ticket so I can track group size.
$30- lower income
$45- you have a stable job and only occasional financial stress
$60- you own property or have resources at your disposal
