About this Event
Create colorful terrazzo home décor pieces with eco-resin! Terrazzo is a durable and customizable composite material with a distinct speckled, mosaic-like aesthetic. It’s typically made from chips of marble, glass, granite, or other aggregates set in a binder such as cement or resin. The top layer is sanded away to reveal the colorful chips.
In this class, we’ll make our own colorful chips to use in our terrazzo pieces. Our base will be an eco-resin that cures very fast! You’ll be able to leave class with your finished pieces and instructions on how to sand them the next day.
We’ll use an eco-resin composite powder that’s water-based and gypsum-based. Once fully cured, the final product is extremely durable—and beautiful!
A variety of molds and colors will be available—not necessarily limited to those pictured. Each student will create their own colorful chips and use them to craft a selection of home goods such as trays, candle holders, and coasters.
