The Reston Community Orchestra’s star-spangled concert promises to be a wonderful celebration of America’s rich musical heritage. Featuring iconic compositions by Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, and John Williams, along with fan-favorite medleys from Broadway and films “Phantom of the Opera”, “Star Wars”, and “Pirates of the Caribbean”, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Featured guest soloist Mark Irchai performs Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” showcasing the energy and flair of the Jazz Age. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate the diverse landscape and legacy of American music!
Enjoy a special pre-concert performance at 3:45 PM featuring The Reston Woods Quartet and tango dancers from the Fred Astaire Dance Studios. This captivating collaboration blends the passionate rhythm of tango music, performed by the string quartet, with the graceful and fiery movements of professional dancers provides a beautiful prelude to the concert.
