A lyrical quest for balance between humans and nature. Klára and Pavel live in harmony with the Czech countryside: she hunts those poisoning birds of prey, he restores wetlands and mows by hand. Their struggle seems futile, yet the film – carried by wind, birdsong and earth – asks a vital question: can we still restore the balance we’ve lost?
Tomáš Elšík (b. 1986) is a Czech director and editor. A graduate of FAMO and FAMU, he debuted with a portrait of Tel Aviv’s bus station (2018), awarded at Ji.hlava. He also works as a dramaturge, designs exhibitions and is a carpenter.
The Echoes of Ji.hlava in Belgium are held under the auspices of H.E. Jakub Skalník, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Brussels, with the support of the City of Jihlava and in cooperation with Czech Centre Brussels.
