In today’s world, where isolation, displacement, and cultural erasure threaten many communities, storytelling remains a radical but forgotten act of connection. It affirms who we are, where we come from, and what we carry forward. They remind us that while our languages, identity and landscapes may differ, our longing for meaning, belonging, and continuity is universal.

Echoes Across the Flame is an invitation to gather around this ancient fire—to listen, feel, remember and reconnect. It celebrates the power of oral tradition as a living, breathing art form that transcends borders.

This event creates space for diverse audiences, especially racialised and immigrant communities in Calgary, to see themselves reflected on stage, and to witness the beauty of other traditions with open hearts.
