Celebrate ECE Week at the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery.To celebrate ECE Week (9–13 February), we’re opening our doors to early learning centres for a playful, creative museum experience designed especially for our youngest tamariki.
Across the building, you’ll find a range of small, child-friendly, hands-on and open-ended creative stations, located in:
✨ The Activity Centre
✨ Our introductory space
✨ Exhibitions including Hundertwasser in New Zealand and Wairau Māori Art Gallery
✨ Our Afforested Roof (weather permitting)
ECE centres are welcome to explore the building at their own pace in small groups or move through the spaces together as one group — whatever works best for you and your tamariki.
✔️ Free entry for ECE groups
✔️ Pre-visit walkthroughs available for kaiako and staff
✔️ A welcoming, relaxed environment for creative exploration
We ask that centres let us know when they intend to visit so we can support your experience. Attendance numbers will be recorded, and a short feedback survey will be shared following your visit.
