Through Their Eyes: Seeing Behavior with Curiosity, Not Control with Desiree Corral, When children’s behavior challenges us, it’s easy to react to what we see, but what if we learned to listen to what behavior is saying? Shifting from control to curiosity changes everything. In this 2-hour interactive training, you’ll explore how unmet needs, sensory input and gaps between adult expectations and children’s developmental capacities shape behavior. Learn how curiosity, co-regulation and connection can transform your responses and create calmer, more emotionally attuned classrooms.

Participants will engage in activities that encourage authenticity. Prepare to engage in creative expression activities that give children a positive way to express themselves. Activities will work for a mixed age setting and can be adapted for various developmental levels.
Afternoon Breakout Session: Four amazing presenters to choose from!
Learning to Love Learning with Lori Jo Bossy, M. Ed. As a life-long observer of children, Maria Montessori found that the greatest success in learning was rooted in the desire to learn, the intrinsic motivation. How do we lead our students to love learning for its own sake? Join us to find the answer in the five basic elements of Montessori education.
Teaching Body Safety to Reluctant Caregivers with Debbie Harpster. This training emphasizes the importance of body safety for young children, ages 0 to 5 and supports caregivers in overcoming challenges when teaching it. Participants will discover the benefits of discussing body safety, learn body safety rules to share with children and explore strategies to help parents and other caregivers practice these vital safety measures.
The Rhythm of the Day: How Consistency Builds Confidence and Calm with Kimberli Helaire-Smith A predictable, well-paced day is one of the most powerful tools an early childhood professional can use to support children’s emotional security, self-regulation, and learning success. In this interactive training, participants will explore how consistent daily routines and smooth transitions help build confident, calm, and engaged classrooms.
Achieving Quality Together through NAFCC Accreditation with Kathy Knickelbein & Deetra Stewart. The journey to excellence in early childhood education begins with a shared vision: to provide nurturing, safe, and high-quality environments for young children. The National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) & FCCAN is a nationally recognized mark of quality for family childcare providers — and achieving it is a collaborative effort that uplifts children, families, providers, and communities.
