Celebrate South Asian Heritage at Greenford Quay with Eats & Beats – a vibrant, free-to-attend weekend of street food, music and community-led experiences by the water.

This July, we're celebrating the rich cultures, traditions and creativity of South Asian communities through food, music, dance and hands-on activities. Expect a lively programme featuring independent street food traders, live performances, creative workshops and family-friendly experiences that showcase the diversity and vibrancy of South Asian heritage.

Whether you're discovering something new, reconnecting with familiar traditions or simply enjoying a great day out with friends and family, it's the perfect way to experience a weekend of culture, community and celebration by the canal.

This July, the event celebrates South Asian Heritage, shining a spotlight on the cultures, traditions, creativity and communities that continue to shape and enrich modern Britain. Expect a vibrant mix of independent street food traders, South Asian DJs, live performances and interactive experiences, alongside creative workshops and activities inspired by South Asian art, music and storytelling.

Throughout the weekend, the programme will champion cultural exchange, creativity and community, inviting visitors of all ages to discover something new, celebrate shared traditions and immerse themselves in a lively atmosphere by the canal. Whether you're reconnecting with your heritage, exploring new experiences or simply enjoying a fantastic day out with friends and family, it's the perfect way to celebrate South Asian Heritage at Greenford Quay.

Friday: DJ Nikz
Start the weekend with DJ Nikz, bringing a soundtrack inspired by South Asian culture alongside contemporary favourites and feel-good summer vibes.

Expect an energetic mix of Bollywood, Bhangra, R&B, dance and crowd favourites as the market comes alive on Friday evening. Grab some food, enjoy a drink by the canal and ease into the weekend with great music and a fantastic atmosphere.


🎶 Saturday - Dance, Drumming & Cultural Celebration

Saturday's programme celebrates the rich traditions, music and movement of South Asian culture through a series of live performances and interactive workshops.

At 1:00pm, 2:30pm and 3:45pm, enjoy captivating performances featuring Indian Classical (Kathak), Folk and Bollywood dance, showcasing a blend of traditional storytelling, vibrant movement and contemporary influences.

Following each performance, audiences will be invited to get involved in an interactive workshop, learning the foundations of Classical Indian dance alongside a lively medley of folk dances from Western India. Whether you're a complete beginner or simply curious to try something new, everyone is welcome to join in.

We're also delighted to welcome The Dhol Players, who will be bringing the energy with two live performances at 3:00pm and 4:30pm. Expect powerful rhythms, infectious beats and an unforgettable atmosphere as traditional dhol drumming fills Greenford Quay and brings the celebration to life.

Back for July, discover a thoughtfully curated artisan market brought together by T&T Markets, celebrating a mix of local makers, independent brands and creative talent.

For this special South Asian Heritage edition, visitors can expect a blend of returning favourites and new traders, showcasing handmade products, unique gifts and artisan goods inspired by a variety of cultures and traditions. It's the perfect opportunity to support small businesses, discover something new and take home a unique find.

🎨 Creative Workshops & Activities

Friday (6PM – 9PM):
Back for July, we’re excited to welcome Let’s Draw Now for another relaxed, fully inclusive drop-in workshop.

Inspired by this month's South Asian Heritage theme, participants will have the opportunity to draw from a selection of South Asian-inspired models, costumes and props, celebrating the beauty, colour and diversity of South Asian culture through creativity and observation.

Open to all ages and abilities, whether you stay for five minutes or settle in for longer, it’s a chance to slow down, get creative and be part of a shared artistic experience. No experience is needed – simply drop in and take part at your own pace.

Saturday (12PM – 5PM):
Madhubani Coaster Workshop with Komal Madal

Join local artist Komal Madal for a relaxed, drop-in workshop inspired by the traditional Indian art form of Madhubani.

Participants are invited to design and decorate their own wooden or cork coaster using simple Madhubani-inspired imagery such as suns, fish and floral patterns. Using Posca pens and acrylic paint markers, you'll explore line drawing, repetition and pattern-making to create a unique piece of artwork to take home.

Running throughout the day from 12pm–5pm, this family-friendly activity is suitable for all ages and abilities, allowing visitors to drop in and take part at their own pace. Alongside the workshop, Komal will share visual references and examples of Madhubani motifs, introducing participants to the history and cultural significance of this vibrant art form in an engaging and accessible way. Templates will also be available to support those with additional needs.

Plus on Saturday:

  • Garden games, including giant chess and cornhole
