Field botanist & yard ecologist Aubree Keurajian and founder of CT Foraging Club Amy Demers will be co-teaching a class on foraging invasives. You will learn how to identify and utilize edible and medicinal invasive plants. We will also discuss how to sustainably harvest invasive plants in a way that will improve our ecosystem.The class will consist of a 45-minute lecture, followed by a 45-minute walk, where we will practice plant and mushroom identification.
This class will be $30 per person. 10% of ticket sales will go towards Backcountry Hunters and Anglers (BHA) nonprofit organization to promote conservation of wild spaces.
To sign up for the class, email [email protected] with the full name of all participants. You will be emailed further details regarding meet up location the day before the class.
After class, participants are invited to join BHA to assist in invasive & trash removal at Naugatuck State Forest. Anyone is welcome to join us for free at 11:30 for the trash clean up.
We will run the class rain or shine.
