Topic: Rayanne Sautter is the Oregon advocate for CARE. Rayanne attends congressional meetings in Washington, D.C., yearly with other state advocates to inform our public servants of the issues that they are engaged in and to gain support.

She will specifically be talking to us about how CARE advocates for girls and women.
“We truly believe that women are powerhouses of change in their communities,” Rayanne says. “I personally got involved with CARE after seeing people in different countries who didn’t have voices of their own,” explaining that an encounter in Mozambique with an eight-year-old survivor of violence made a deep impression on her. Claudine Tsongo also speaks up to say that a mere $100 given to a woman in the DRC can help her start a small-scale business, feeding her family and paying for their educations.
Our gatherings, called salons, are throwbacks to earlier times in history when people came together to share thought provoking ideas. That’s our goal was well as create community among our like-minded tribe and discuss social and cultural issues that affect our lives. Our new location has the following perks:
