This April, Eastside Spin Jam is featuring a poi workshop with Tori Rex!Teaching: Intro to Poi Flowers
In this workshop you will learn structural concepts for poi spinning including the basic modes for timing and direction, in-spin and anti-spin flowers, how to count beats within these patterns, and how to transition between them. Other props including doubles, fans, oxbows, and hoops are suitable for this workshop but we will primarily be focusing on body mechanics for poi. Extra poi will be available to try!
About Tori:
Tori began her poi journey in August 2018 after receiving her first set of handmade sock poi from a close friend and mentor. Grounded by her background in physical therapy, Tori has gone on to teach at Flow Fest Seattle and perform at events including Sanca's Come Together and Sakura Con. Her greatest passion is building meaningful connections and supporting the personal growth of others through movement. She is honored to serve as the Producer of Eastside Spin Jam in Bellevue, a thriving weekly gathering for flow artists and jugglers.

Eastside Spin Jam is open to flow artists, jugglers, and any other person who wants to move and flow.
All props and skill levels are welcome and encouraged.

**What should I expect at Spin Jam?
Friendly faces and welcoming spaces. Open jams are an unstructured time to come together and practice flow arts while building connections and community. Many love teaching. All props, skill levels and movement modalities are encouraged and welcome!
We plan to host workshops on a monthly basis. Let the event host know if you're interested in teaching!
**Don't have a prop of your own? We've always got extra to share.

Our workshops are offered on a sliding scale/pay-what-you-can basis.
Suggested payment is $10-35.

- This is an indoor event.
- Masks are not required but are encouraged.
