Eastside Connect Volunteering - Farm Box Distribution Support

Veggielution's Eastside connect program connects members of our community in East San Jose with organic foods produced and harvested by local small farmers. Every week approximately 200 families visit the farm to pick up a box of vegetables and learn about the resources we have at Veggielution. We also interact and share stories with community members.

Volunteer shifts are two hours and for each event we have three shifts available: 11am-1pm, 1-3pm, or 3-5pm. When you select "Get Tickets", you will have the option to choose the timeslots you want to sign up for.

All volunteers must sign-in upon arriving to the farm, which includes a liability waiver.You must be age 13 or older to volunteer on the farm. Middle and High School students, ages 13 to 17, MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian/chaperone.

Note on Weather: In the event we need to cancel a volunteer event due to extreme weather, we will notify you via email, otherwise please assume we will hold volunteer events rain or shine, and dress accordingly.

Note on Volunteer Hours: We are happy to sign off on hours if you need them, however, we ask that you please provide your own form or letter for us to sign. Veggielution staff will only sign-off on hours if a form is provided at time of volunteering.

El programa Eastside connect de Veggielution conecta a miembros de nuestra comunidad en el este de San José con alimentos orgánicos producidos y cosechados por pequeños agricultores locales. Cada semana aproximadamente 200 familias visitan la finca para recoger una caja de verduras y conocer los recursos que tenemos en Veggielution. También interactuamos y compartimos historias con miembros de la comunidad.

Los turnos de voluntariado son de dos horas y para cada evento tenemos tres turnos disponibles: 11am-1pm, 1-3pm o 3-5pm. Cuando selecciones "Obtener entradas", tendrás la opción de elegir los horarios en los que deseas registrarte.

Todos los voluntarios deben registrarse al llegar a la granja, lo que incluye una exención de responsabilidad. Debes tener 13 años o más para ser voluntario en la granja. Los estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria, de 13 a 17 años, DEBEN estar acompañados por un padre/tutor/acompañante.
Nota sobre el clima: en caso de que necesitemos cancelar un evento de voluntariado debido al clima extremo, se lo notificaremos por correo electrónico; de lo contrario, asuma que realizaremos eventos de voluntariado llueva o haga sol y vístase en consecuencia.
Nota sobre las horas de voluntariado: estaremos encantados de aprobar horas si las necesita; sin embargo, le pedimos que proporcione su propio formulario o carta para que la firmemos. El personal de Veggielution solo aprobará las horas si se proporciona un formulario en el momento del voluntariado.
