About the Eastern Medicine Singers:
Our Beginnings Were Humble.
The Eastern Medicine Singers began in 2008 as a youth teaching drum, created to educate Native American youth in Rhode Island about the traditional Eastern culture of song and dance. What started as a local cultural initiative soon evolved into a dynamic powwow drum group performing throughout New England.
Today, the Eastern Medicine Singers have collaborated with artists and cultures across the world, bringing the vibrant heartbeat of the Eastern Algonquin people to global stages. Based in the greater Providence, Rhode Island area, they continue their mission of teaching, preserving, and sharing the Algonquin language, music, and traditions with communities of all kinds.
🎶 Come for the drumbeats, stay for the soul vibes.
