About this Event

Joe Chomistek hosts the film, “Carl’s Way” about Scandia pioneer Carl Anderson, which illustrates the creativity and resilience of rural people in overcoming the economic devastation of the depression in Western Canada. See how settlers, led by Carl, negotiated purchase of 1.5 million acres from the CPR, which led to the creation of the Eastern Irrigation District, in 1935, which still hugely influences the farming and ranching done there today. The movie was nominated for seven Alberta Film and TV Awards in 2014!
