East Texas Giving Day (ETGD) is an 18-hour day of giving that provides critical funding for East Texas nonprofits. It occurs annually on the last Tuesday in April. ETGD 2026 will be Tuesday, April 28 from 6:00 AM to Midnight. ETGD is an online event, but offline donations can be made by calling (903) 585-3186 for more info. All proceeds benefit Straight Street Restoration Center, our 14-week faith-based recovery program. Our donation goal is $25,000 and our matching gift goal is $15,000.

Damascus Home has participated annually in ETGD since 2019. East Texas Giving Day became our primary Spring Fundraiser in 2023. The success of this event is enormously important to the ongoing success of the recovery program, because most applicants lack the resources to pay for their recovery program. Damascus Home will participate in all of the ETGD events, including prize categories, Power Hours, etc. in order that we achieve the maximum giving potential.

The purpose of an area-wide Giving Day is to bring the region together on one day and as one community, raising money and awareness for East Texas nonprofits. The initiative, organized by East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF), provides citizens across ETCF’s 32-county service area an easy platform to support the mission of local nonprofits that serve our communities.
