East Bay Resource Panel - August 2026

Come and reconnect with your peers and attend the upcoming in-person meeting of The East Bay Resource Panel. The event will be held in a casual atmosphere to enable homeowners, board members, managers, and other professionals to hear about important topics presented by experts in the HOA industry.

The insurance market continues to evolve, and many HOA boards are seeing changes in coverage, pricing, and renewal requirements. Understanding what is driving these changes can help associations prepare for future renewals and make more informed decisions throughout the year. This session will provide an overview of the current insurance landscape and the factors that are influencing coverage options for HOA communities.

Charlotte Allen, CIRMS, of Socher Insurance Agency, Inc. A HUB International Company, will discuss what insurance carriers are evaluating when reviewing communities for coverage and why some associations are experiencing higher premiums or fewer insurance options. The presentation will also explore the growing importance of property maintenance and building condition. As we discuss maintenance we will discuss electrical panels and why they should be addressed before your next renewal.

Attendees will also gain insight into topics that can significantly impact an association's insurance strategy including their reserve study and when surplus lines or the California FAIR Plan may become necessary. Throughout the discussion, Charlotte will highlight the questions every board member should be asking their insurance broker to better understand their coverage, identify potential risks, and prepare for future renewals.
