Start your morning with the Chamber’s Early Bird | Insight & Impact, your front-row seat to what’s happening in the business and community landscape. This month, we’re excited to welcome Jason Shamblin, Director of the Ottawa County Parks & Recreation Commission, who will share timely insight following the approval of the County’s new five-year Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan. You’ll get an inside look at what’s ahead for our parks, trails, and natural spaces, how these plans impact residents and businesses, and ways our community can stay engaged and involved. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and get energized about the future of Ottawa County’s outdoor spaces.
Jason brings more than 25 years of parks and recreation leadership experience, with a strong focus on conservation, public access, and building meaningful community partnerships. Since joining Ottawa County in 2019, he has led efforts to expand trail access, advance large-scale conservation initiatives, and strengthen regional collaboration. A graduate of Ohio University and Hocking College, Jason lives in Ottawa County with his wife and three children and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
