Earthshine Viewing Party and Sound Bath with Cacao

The evening of May 19th, the moon will be a thin waxing crescent (less than 10% illuminated), providing a darker sky and creating a the perfect atmosphere to allow the Earth's Shine (reflection from sun) to illuminate the darker side of the moon.

6:30 PM – Arrival + Paddleboarding + Dine

• Explore the grounds upon arrival, if you order food, you may pick up upon arrival and dine when you wish. Reserved paddleboards (or tubes) can be picked up at the creek ops desk, to enjoy a float before the sky darkens. (boards are pre-reserved at ticketing purchase, limited quantity).

7:30 PM – 7:50 PM: Cacao Elixer Welcome

• Cacao and music at tipi, a delicious cacao elixir will be served as guests meander the grounds. Enter the tipi in small groups, to enjoy the acoustics of an intimate space.

7:50 PM – 8:45 PM: Sound Bath Under the Oaks

• We will begin just before sunset for a really beautiful transition in light
• Guests settle onto their mats/blankets/chairs for the sound bath portion of the evening, nestled amongst the oak trees on the lawn. The event is bring your own mat/blanket/chair.

8:50 PM – 9:20 PM: 🌘 Earthshine Viewing (Peak Window)

• Look to the western sky 30–60 minutes after sunset to see the crescent moon in between Venus and Jupiter. This is the prime window for Earthshine viewing. The unlit portion of the moon may be visible due to the sunlight reflecting off the Earth. Above the planetarty trio, the Gemini twin stars will also be visible, adding to the evening's display. Note: no telescope is needed as these are among the brightest objects in the sky, though binoculars will enhance the view of the Moon's craters and Earthshine. Bring your own binos!

9:20 PM – 9:45 PM: Open Sky + Social Wind-Down

• Casual stargazing continues
• Optional connection time
• Ease out when you are ready

Dark Sky Note: Wimberley is a Dark Sky community, so the stars will be exceptionally clear once the moon sets later in the night.
