A fully immersive art experience. 4 full days, 32 hrs of guided discovery by award winning Canadian Fibre Artist Melissa Nasby. Located at Melissa's gorgeous home studio, Soul of The Shu. We will go on a nature walk to forage all of our earthen dye matter, then spend the next 2 days exploring and extracting dyes and prints from our local foliage. We we learn all about preparing fabrics, creating dye baths, pre-mordants, mordants, natural tannins, rust, bundles, steaming, immersing, solar dyeing, after care, and so much more. The following 2 days will be focused on creating art from the gorgeous prints we have "unearthed" together. You will be encouraged to try new things and really immerse yourself in the true beauty of nature unlocking all of it's potential. ALL SUPPLIES ARE INCLUDED. AGES 19+. Beginners are WELCOME. No experience required, just a willingness to learn and discover the endless creative possibilities that nature provides for us. Shared Accommodations available for out of town guests.
