Eartha’s Farm Volunteering

Volunteer with Eartha's Farmers!

For groups larger than 5 people, please email [email protected]. All group members should still sign up through Eventbrite. This allows the farm team to prepare for all the helpful hands!

All volunteers under the age of 16 must have a parent or legal guardian stay on property and complete the required volunteer waiver. Volunteers that are 13 years or younger must have a chaperon volunteer with them.

Eartha's Farm volunteer activities involve working hand in hand with staff to support operations and maintenance of the farm. EFAM staff explain volunteer activities and work with you to learn about regenerative farming.

Volunteer tasks are physical - planting, weeding, bed prep, mulching, harvesting, washing produce, bagging and labeling produce. Actions like digging, raking, bending, twisting, using a wheelbarrow, and lifting may feel like a full-body workout! If you have any physical or health limitations we can accommodate you.

WHEN!

The farm volunteers are welcome to sign up on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays starting at 8:30am. In the summer months we will only work in the heat until 12. Some days there will be opportunities to work inside after 12.

Wednesdays – from 12 -3pm the community garden has volunteer opportunities.

WHAT TO WEAR? Clothes for outdoor work that you do not mind getting dirty. We ask that you please wear closed-toe shoes. Long pants, breathable long-sleeve shirts, and a hat are highly recommended. Consider bringing sunscreen and bug spray to help protect you while you farm. Garden gloves and other farm tools are provided. We have a water bottle filling stations and water fountains, we recommend bringing a bottle with you that can be refilled.

DON'T GET LOST!

Look for the white fence surrounding the farm and the Greenhouse on the farm site.

If you are heading North on Moncrief, the farm is just after you cross the railroad tracks on the left-hand side of the road.

If you are driving south on Moncrief, the farm is just after you pass Moncrief Creek on the right-hand side of the road.

Once you arrive, turn right after you pull through the gate to park in front of the metal Quonset Hut (Parking on the Farm itself on Wednesdays and Fridays only). Staff are stationed behind the metal building so walk down the sidewalk on the northside of the building to find EFAM staff and sign in.

At EFAM we want to be socially responsible and provide safety tips for anyone concerned about their health. If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or have any other illness please reschedule for another day.
