Earth Prayer | Cacao and Dance Ritual
"When we give ourselves over completely to the spirit of the dance, it becomes a prayer."
-
Join us this Sunday for a gathering to honour this earth we have the privilege of walking on — through the ritual of cacao medicine and the movement of our bodies.
Sometimes there are no words that can truly speak our hearts. So during this gathering, we turn to movement as prayer — moving for healing and gratitude, for life and for Mother Nature.
We'll begin with cacao, prayer, and organic sound — calling ourselves into presence and preparing the inner ground for intentional movement. This will be led by Connie Causa, a powerful medicine holder and lover of Cacao.
Followed by a Somatic Dance, led by Ceri Blythe. You will be guided to remember the way your body holds nature within itself, and how our bones hold the ancient knowledge of being of the earth. A soundscape of primal beats will guide us through this journey...we promise you'll also have A LOT of fun moving your body in new and old ways.
-
This is a beautiful opportunity for anyone who has felt the pain of nature and humanity, and felt the call to gather in deep intention. Praying together through movement is a powerful form of individual and collective healing — and a way of giving back to the earth that holds us.

So let's gather, and offer our movements and breath together, as an Earth Prayer.

"It is a prayer for the future, a remembrance of the past and a joyful exclamation of thanks for the present." — Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
