About this Event
Celebrate Earth Day among the trees and trillium! Join Dig the Dunes for a mid-week Forest Therapy walk led by Sandy Pause Yoga's certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide Lorraine Fitzgerald.
"Forest bathing,” as it is translated from the Japanese term “shinrin-yoku,” is a health and wellness practice that has numerous health benefits including increased immune function, lower blood pressure, restorative effects on mental focus, memory and learning. By slowing down and enlivening our senses to the abundance of the natural world, Forest Therapy walks create space for playful exploration and for-rest renewal. This walk will take place in Shirley Heinze Land Trust's J. Timothy Ritchie Preserve in Chesterton, a hidden gem bursting with beech and maple trees as well as a breathtaking display of trilliums each spring.
$5 of every ticket will go towards supporting Shirley Heinze conservation efforts. Registrants will receive specific information regarding this Forest Therapy walk, parking and meeting location and more. For additional details about Forest Therapy, please visit https://www.sandypauseyoga.com/forest-therapy-walks.
This hike is limited to just 10 people. Those who would like can join us for a beer and/or dinner at 219 Taproom in Chesterton.
