Sierra Club Headwaters Group Presents Earth Day Fair on April 22ndTo celebrate the 55th Anniversary of Earth Day, the Headwaters Group of the Sierra Club is hosting a gathering of local groups showcasing successful ways to combat Climate Change and promote Biodiversity.
Come join in the Celebration on Tuesday, April 22 at the Breckenridge campus of Colorado Mountain College, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. The event is free and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Come for your favorite part or for all. Food and refreshments provided.

Throughout the Lobby, the Earth Day Fair will feature animated Information Tables, Refreshments, and Capstone Research Project Exhibits addressing critical environmental, social, and economic challenges, by CMC students graduating from the sustainability studies bachelor’s degree program.
The Blue River Watershed Group is on hand. Their mission is to promote, protect, and restore the health of the Blue River Watershed, a crucial 680-square-mile area encompassing Summit County and parts of Grand and Lake Counties. The Group is dedicated to implementing best practices and innovative solutions to ensure optimal outcomes for the Blue River watershed, safeguarding its ecological integrity for future generations.
Auditorium Presentations:
4:00 – 4:45 Colorado Wild Colorado Wild is presenting a discussion about co-thriving, or coexisting, with wolves in Colorado. Find out why Colorado needs wolves and what we can do to protect livestock AND wolves.
5:00 – 5:45 Dark Sky Colorado Protects the night sky for heritage, health and well-being of the people, wildlife and environment of Colorado.
6:00 – 6:30 Plastics Panel Discussion: BreckCreate, H3C, Sierra Club, Rotary
Breck Create: Getting Creative About Plastic Waste will give an overview of their Precious Plastic program, report impact, myth bust and share ways community members can support the cause.
High Country Conservation Center: Discover how High Country Conservation Center drives bold Zero Waste initiatives to help our community achieve our ambitious 40% waste diversion rate by 2030.
Sierra Club Headwaters Group includes all Sierra Club members in Summit, Grand, and Eagle Counties. Its primary focus is on Water, Weeds, Wildlife, and Wilderness.
Rotary Club of Summit County has been collecting plastic packaging from local business, removing labels and tape, and sending it to Trex Decking.
6:40 – 7:00 The Summit County Open Space and Trails Department will review the Swan River Restoration project, which has restored over 2 miles of river channel and 40 acres of riparian and upland habitat since 2013.
7:10 – 7:30 Eagle Summit Wilderness Alliance is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the four Wilderness areas in Eagle and Summit Counties. We promote sustainable practices to ensure they remain protected for generations to come.
7:40 – 8:00 Friends of Dillon Ranger District is one of Summit County's largest volunteer-based organizations, supporting the US Forest Service in their mission to protect our public lands and maintain them for generations to come.
