About this Event
Celebrate Earth Day by spending some quality time with Mother Nature!
*Pay what you can; donation-based event*
No prior knowledge or experience necessary!
As a guided practice, forest bathing consists of a series of invitations that help you deeply engage with the natural spaces around you, leading to increased wellbeing physically, psychologically, spiritually, and socially. It is an experiential opportunity to reconnect with yourself and the environment in which we live. In the spirit of reciprocity, forest bathing them helps us learn to give back and protect our natural world.
During your forest bathing session, you can expect a mindfully immersive experience in a natural greenspace and/or blue space setting. You’ll be invited to disconnect from the fast, tech- connected space of your day-to-day world and to tune into your senses to connect with the state of the natural world around you. This includes engaging with natural features such as the ground, plants, water, animals, and sky.
There will be opportunities for movement, sitting, deep breathing, introspection, social interaction, and creativity. Be prepared to be on your feet and moving often, with possible options to walk, bend down/squat, sit, lay, etc. to gain additional closeness with nature. You will be offered several opportunities for sharing and discussion, but participation in these and any other activity is optional based on your comfort level.
You will receive more preparation information prior to the event via email.
This event will occur rain or shine (dangerous weather excluded)! Nature can be exceptionally beautiful in what we normally consider "inclement" weather. Dress well and step out of your comfort zone to experience it!
