Earth Bodies: Curatorial Tour and Conversation with Erin Szikora
About this Event
Explore the stories behind each artwork, learn about the network of relationships that led to its curation, and ask questions in a relaxed learning environment.
brings together eight contemporary Indigenous artists and relational makers whose works explore clay as both a material and a relative. Traditional vessels and experimental forms draw ancestral technologies into dialogue with contemporary ideas and aesthetics to explore themes of belonging, loss, and nourishment, asking audiences to consider what’s truly at stake when we take earth for granted. Resisting distinctions between art and craft, function and decoration, Earth Bodies celebrates clay as a living collaborator—one that both shapes and is shaped by its maker—that connects each of us to place, living histories, and our bodies.
All are welcome, registration is encouraged. Tea will be served.
