About this Event

As part of our week-long takeover of SpACE, the Edinburgh Architectural Association is delighted to launch the EAA Book Club!

We want to create more opportunities for relaxed, informal exchanges of ideas about the issues shaping our lives, our cities and our profession.

Our first book is Feeling at Home: Transforming the Politics of Housing by Alva Gotby.

A short but thought-provoking read, the book explores the underlying causes of the housing crisis and challenges conventional ideas about contemporary housing, ownership and domestic life.

The aim is to create space for lively discussion and debate. Some of the ideas are bold, perhaps even utopian, and that's part of the appeal.

Whether you've read the entire book, a few chapters or only a handful of pages, come along! Whether you agree or disagree with its arguments, we'd love you to join the conversation.

Getting the book

  • Available from the RIAS Bookshop (online)
  • The EAA can help with access to a limited number of copies. Email [email protected] for assistance.
