About this Event
Who is the course for? The e-ILS course is suitable for ODP's, doctors, medical students, nurses, nursing students, midwives, paramedics and student paramedics, physiotherapists, dentistry professionals and other health and care professionals. It may also be suitable for fire service technicians, police personnel, Pr*son officers and Advanced First Aid practitioners with a FREC 3 / 4 qualification.
What does it cover? An e-ILS course provides a variety of skills, from managing a deteriorating patient, identifying causes and treating cardiac arrest, to improving abilities as both a team member and leader. It Is therefore the ideal training tool for healthcare professionals who may have to act as a first responder in an emergency, giving them the skills to treat patients in cardiac arrest before a supporting team arrives. e-ILS uses the same core curriculum as ILS and is Resuscitation Council UK’s most attended course. ILS certification is recognised in the UK, EU and Australia.
What are the objectives? During the course, you will develop the skills to:
- identify the causes and promote the prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest;
- recognise and treat the deteriorating patient using the ABCDE approach;
- undertake the skills of quality CPR and defibrillation (manual and /or AED) and simple airway manoeuvres;
- utilise non-technical skills to facilitate team leadership and effective team membership.
What is the course structure? The e-ILS course combines half a day of e-learning with half a day of face-to-face learning in one of our many Course Centres.
We use our evidence-based guidelines and cutting-edge research to create our courses. Courses are then delivered by members of our dedicated and highly skilled Instructor base. This guarantees that our courses are uniform, and the content remains the same across all our Course Centres.
What is the pre-course preparation: Before the course, you will be registered on the Resuscitation Council UK Learning Management System (LMS). Here, you can access pre-course modules that will prepare you for your face-to-face session, and you may be asked to complete a pre-course multiple choice question (MCQ) paper.
You will receive your course manual at least two weeks before the course. Candidates are expected to read the manual in preparation for the course.
